Kenneth Cheah is the founder and CEO of Nexor AI and the principal adviser of its AI Governance & Advisory practice.
He spent 16 years in financial services, across investment banking, M&A advisory, equity research and wealth management. The work ran on valuations, deal execution and regulatory filings. Controls were never optional there, and every number had to survive scrutiny. That shaped how he approaches AI. Capability only counts if it holds up under control. Value only counts if it can be measured.
He trained as a mechanical engineer and still works from first principles: understand the system, find where it breaks, and fix the mechanism rather than the symptom.
He founded Nexor to bring that discipline to AI adoption. Today he works with banks, asset managers, GLCs and MNCs on how their people use AI, how it is governed, and how work changes because of it. He remains Nexor’s lead trainer, in the room with the teams doing the work.
Kenneth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Certificates in AI from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is based in Kuala Lumpur.
